SPECIAL SERVICES … ON BOAT WITH MATILDE
- Activities & Taste
- Fishing trips
- Visit to the island of Cerboli
- Visit to the island of Palmaiola
- Our products and breakfast
The Sant’Ignazio and La Rosa dei Venti are Agricampeggi a few steps from the Gulf of Baratti in the Tuscan countryside near the sea and in an area surrounded by greenery and rich in history. There is the possibility through our “Matilde” sling to make fishing trips, or to visit the small islands of Palmaiola & Cerboli, pristine pearls of the Tuscan Mediterranean.
Through our small boat “Matilde” it is possible to make fishing trips starting from the extraordinary Port of Salivoli. You can cook the catch of the day using the barbeque area available in the camping.
Cerboli is a limestone islet in the Piombino canal, about 8 kilometers from Elba and 6.6 from Piombino.
The island, which was owned by the writer Carlo Cassola, passed to the heirs after the disappearance of the writer and sold by them in the year 2000. Today it falls within the perimeter of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park and is a special protection area Bioitaly SPAs. The island has an extension of 0.04 sq km, and is entirely covered with scrub of marine rockrose, garrigue and mastic.
Its faunistic-botanical characteristics are not yet fully studied and known but, for sure, it hosts plant and animal endemisms of the Archipelago and a subspecies of lizard that lives only in that environment, the “Pordacis sicula cerbolensis”. The only signs of man’s distant passage are a small disused quarry and some ruined ruins.

The island of Palmaiola is a small islet that is part of the Tuscan Archipelago. It is about 7 kilometers from the tip of Piombino and about 3 kilometers from the Island of Elba.
Its name derives from the abundance in the past of dwarf palms (insulam Palmarole).
The islet has a conical shape and on the top there is a lighthouse of the Navy, in a position of exceptional visibility and a small heliport. The lighthouse inaugurated in 1844 consists of a square section tower, which rises above a rectangular building on two levels with the guardians’ houses. In 1989 the lighthouse was definitively automated with a solar panel system.
To reach it, it is necessary to follow the path of about 250 meters which originates from the inlet present in the northern part of the island, near the rock of the Friar.
From a naturalistic point of view, the island of Palmaiola has a particular relevance, as it is a very safe place for the nesting of numerous species of sea birds such as the big shearwater and the Corsican seagull.
Together with the nearby Island of Cerboli, it has been included in the Sites of Community Interest of the Tuscany region for the marine and environmental context in which it is located.
